I cannot think of one event in my life that has shaped my world view the most.
There are many things that have helped me form my thought an opinions of the world. I think the main thing that affected my life is that I grew up in a Christian home surrounded by love. My maternal grandfather was a devout man from the time I was born. He had some wilder times in his youth, He was the most devoted Christian I can remember knowing. He raised his family to believe and live a Christ-like life in every way. My maternal grandmother grew up in a home with many siblings. She was the absolute middle child of 11. I think she had a harder life and it showed in her attitude. She was a Christian but she also was flawed. I loved my maternal grandparents so much. I spent a lot of time with them as I was growing up. Their influence helped me become who I am. My mother is a very devout Christian who has striven to live the best life possible for her and our family. My father is a Christian man who I admire so much. He has always been very stoic and non-emotional. He grew up in a poor environment. He was born during the Depression. His family struggled for all that they had. This affected him and his relationships through the years. My paternal grandparents were different than my maternal grandparents. My paternal grandfather was emotionally distant. I never really got too know him. He died when I was almost 15. My paternal grandmother was lots of fun. She was younger than most grandmothers. She had my father when she was 16. When we were at her home we simply had fun. She did not start attending church regularly until I was older. She did not drive so had to depend on others to get her there. She was deeply loved by her children. My father grew up learning about God through a program on the radio and one of his Aunts. He began attending church with my mother while they dated. He became very involved in our local church as we grew up. He is the glue that has kept the church open all this time. I was influenced by all of these people including aunts and uncles. Of course, being surrounded by examples of how to be a Christian does not automatically make you one. It just gives you that push to search out the answers needed for your own life.
