I was born in 1958, so 100 years earlier would be 1858.

The time period was right before the Civil War began. I imagine I would have been a housewife and mother during this time. Living in the South, I would have been a supporter of slavery. I may have even owned slaves depending on my financial circumstances. Clothing would have been very different. Hoop skirts were the style back then. Hair would have been up in a bun. The hair would have been long and only taken down at night. There would probably have been many children since there was no birth control. If I lived on the Gulf Coast as I do now, my family would have been living close by. We would have been in the fishing industry or farmers. Our transportation would consist of wagons and horses. Women were not allowed to vote at that time. Most were not able to get much education. Living as a single woman back then would not have been done. I would have moved in with parents or brother.
