My favorite vacation

Our first ever family vacation occurred the summer of 1975. Usually Daddy had to work all summer, but now he was the asst. principal and got a whole 2 weeks off. So we went to Chattanooga and toured Ruby Falls and then to Rock City. Then we drove down to Atlanta and went to Six Flags. We had so much fun. Jason was only 2 years old. I was 17. That one was a memorable trip. We have taken many trips to other theme parks, but this one was the first.

My fav vacations while married were to Baguio and to Grande Island. Baguio is a drive up in the mountains. You could smell the pine trees. The road was super narrow so it was a bit frightening. We stayed in a little cabin. It was a romantic get-a-way. Randy played golf several times and I would wait for him at the 19th Hole restaurant/bar. We went to the open air market and bought a few things. The fresh fruit we could get up there was wonderful. The temp was a bit cooler than we were used to at Clark AFB.

Going to Grande Island was a lot of fun. We would ride a ferry out to the island. We stayed in a cabin that was really nice. We rode bicycles around the island. The beach was so great. The water was clear and blue. We tried snorkeling. I did not like it too much, but Randy loved it. We could not afford to go on the glass bottom boat. We laid out on the beach and soaked up the familiar feeling of a beach day. I always had a book to read in case I needed to occupy myself. The island had one restaurant. We would order steak and lobster and have a bottle of wine. Super romantic setting.
