It depends on what kind of pain. There is actual pain ---ouch! That hurts! I believe that we should assure that people in pain can receive the medication needed to ease their suffering. If that means opioids or marijuana so be it. Pain will impact every aspect of a life.
If the pain is hunger, I think that the more wealthy nations and people should try to alleviate some of these problems in the Third world countries that cannot help themselves.
There will always be the poor. However, we should try to help in some way if we are able.
Pain is difficult to see your way out of.
